Summer reading supports 3 million book challenge

Before the end of school, Guilford County Schools’ Superintendent Mo Green asked children to keep reading this summer. The goal: meet or exceed the 3 million book reading challenge placed before them. Summer is an excellent time for children (and adults) to catch up on their reading or discover new books that not only educate, but entertain.
As a parent, you can encourage summer reading by taking your children to the public library and checking out books with them, downloading books to your iPad or other electronic device and sharing it with your children or even going online and buying your favorite book if you want to hang on to it for future reference. The possibilities are endless, but the goal the same – KEEP READING!
Good luck to all the students in Guilford County and here’s to summer filled with reading, adventure and new horizons!
